However, my point wasn't to denigrate religion -- though I will poke fun at fundamentalism of all stripes -- but to counter the (false) claims about science. I think knowing your origins has a lot to say about "spiritual revelation", in fact. If we found out we are the genetic descendants of aliens, I will guarantee that will spiritually affect us!
